Operation

Four wire-guided service platforms were installed at Stockholm Public Transport´s (SL) newly-built depot in Norsborg outside Stockholm, Sweden. The platforms follow a 300-metre long magnetic wire in the floor between the locomotives standing on the tracks.

Construction

The 18-metre long platforms are fitted with control consoles at both ends and they will transport staff to carry out cleaning tasks in railway cars.

Result

The new service platforms provide higher cleaning efficiency, combined with improved safety and ergonomics for the cleaning staff.
