King of Sweden moves 30-ton door on Solving air bearings
At the MAX IV laboratory inauguration ceremony the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf and Prime Minister of Sweden Stefan Löfven closed the final door of the accelerator using Solving air bearings (also called air skates).
The MAX IV facility in Lund is the largest and most ambitious Swedish investment in research infrastructure and the brightest source of x-rays worldwide. It will receive more than 2,000 scientists annually from Sweden and the rest of the world. Research takes place in areas such as materials science, structural biology, chemistry and nanotechnology.
In close cooperation with the customer Solving created a solution to safely, simply, reliably and quickly open and close 16 heavy concrete laboratory doors weighing up to 30 tons.
